Google Chrome on Android Lollipop displays current tabs in an Overview Mode. It looks better than before now. There is one thing which is helpful for you to know to make your site look good in the Overview Mode in Android Lollipop.

The new material design used in the Android Lollipop allows apps to use different colors of toolbars or status bars. So now you can set colors for your website or app by using this feature to make your site look good when it will be listed with other apps or tabs in Overview/multitasking mode.

If you are a webmaster, then it is very easy for you to set the color or if you are a web developer, even then this will help you to titivate your website’s appearance. You have to write only one line to do so. Here is the complete tutorial on HTML5 Rocks, if you want to know more.

Here is the trick. You have to add one meta tag to your page’s <head> section with the name=”theme-color” and set the content value as a valid CSS color. Pretty damn easy right? So now whenever your website will appear in the Overview mode in Android Lollipop, then the toolbar will have custom color which you had saved in the content value. One Example is displayed below.

<meta name=”theme-color” content=”#db5945″>
